Apple Picking with JORD Watches

When it comes to shopping there are only two things I am really picky about, my purses and my watches. Both of these wardrobe staples are such personal pieces that I want to make sure work into my daily life before purchasing. Especially for my watches, it is important for them to be both functional and beautifully crafted since I look at my wrist dozens of times a day! So when JORD reached out to me, I was excited to see their watch designs, and was truly taken with their work.

JORD watches are handcrafted in the United States and made from various natural woods around the world. Each watch is unique and made completely smooth so it fits comfortably on your wrist. The best part? You have the option to send in your wrist measurements so that your watch arrives at your door perfectly fit for you!

Okay I am not going to lie, when I first heard that they were “wooden watches” I initially thought…isn’t that a bit masculine? But I was wrong! My watch is feminine and even dainty in a way that I never would have expected from a wooden watch.

I chose the Cora series in Purpleheart & Mother of Pearl. I thought the color of the wood was perfect for fall and was excited to discover it matched my favorite plaid to a T! I was a little nervous about receiving a watch that I had never tried on in person, but was so happy with the results! My watch was delivered in a beautiful wooden box that I will definitely keep for my random trinkets. When it came to the fit, although I measured my wrist beforehand, I did ultimately decide that I like my watch a little tighter so I went to my local jeweler. Make sure you pay close attention to how you measure your wrist to ensure the best possible fit!

The biggest difference between my JORD watch and the other watches in my collection was winding it up. I made sure to carefully read the instructions that came in the box but when I initially attempted to wind it up, I was a little too careful. I was afraid I might break it, but then I realized I wasn’t actually winding the watch! Luckily, a quick email to JORD explained that I needed to unscrew the crown which would cause it to pop out, making it easier to set the time. I am glad I double checked, I didn’t want to ruin my new watch! I had to wind the watch about 15-20 times and then it was good to go!

I was ready to test out my new watch, and this past weekend made for the perfect occasion. I headed home to see my friend Natalie and to embrace my favorite month and season in my hometown. Natalie and I haven’t seen each other since this summer’s Florida Georgia Line concert (which was AWESOME!). Since the weather was absolutely beautiful, blue skies with a slight breeze, she and I decided to go apple picking. I knew my favorite plaid shirt and matching JORD watch would be a great option for the fall activity!

I have to say the purple color was a bit of a daring choice for me! Originally, I was thinking the Cora in Maple & Silver, because it would go with everything. Instead, I love that I picked a statement piece that adds a pop of color to whatever outfit I pair with it. My favorite aspect of JORD is the variety of watches. The wood types range from bamboo to ebony, giving you a ton of options based on your own style. In my family, my little brother is actually the watch aficionado, so I think I have his Christmas gift all picked out ;)!

I cannot wait to pair my JORD watch with all my other favorite fall looks!
