With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, I thought I would round up a number of great gift options for the Mom in your life! I love my mom to the moon and back and want to make sure that she feels appreciated this Mother’s Day (and every day for that matter!). For those of you post grads out there living in a big city and pinching every penny, this is not the place to skimp. The woman gave you life for goodness sake! Here are some great options if you are having trouble finding a gift that’s just right… Flowers – Okay this is a gift that I first sent to my mom in college when I was too far away to find a gift at the nearby mall and send it to her in time. My mom absolutely loved the flowers (and then stole the idea to send flowers to her mom and sisters, who of course loved it too!). I guarantee your Mom has a favorite flower, so surprise her with a bouquet. Plus, who doesn’t love flowers?!
Coordinates Cuff – I saw this the other day and am absolutely obsessed! I love that you can give a personalized piece of jewelry that is shared between just you and your mom. Although I like monograms, picking a location that is important to you both seems even more special!
Chef essentials – Upgrade her old oven mitt with a colorful floral option or gift her a new apron. Finding her something she didn’t even realize she needed is always a fun way to surprise her!
Beauty – Sometimes moms need a reminder that it is okay to indulge themselves in a little pampering. Send your mom a gift set from her favorite brand of makeup. Since I started working at Estee Lauder, I have been sending my mom random products I come across and now she is hooked. Send your mom a gift set so she can pamper herself on her day.
Letter – This is one that I think all moms will take over a gift any day. Write your mom a letter telling her how much she means to you. It may seem simple, but I am sure if you received a letter describing how amazing and important you are in someone’s life it would mean a lot to you too. Sometimes I forget that my mom is human too and deserves that reminder that yes, YOU ARE LOVED (Love you mom, you’re the best!)
Listen & Solve – My mom is a master at gift giving for her family. For my grandmother in particular, my mom listens to whatever concerns of problems come up in her life. For example, my grandma is constantly cold so when my mom came across this beautiful robins egg blue sweater she sent it to her. She also found a a colorful sunglass case to help my grandmother more easily find her sunglasses in her purse. My grandma was overjoyed when she received these gifts. It may sound simple, but listening and gifting your mom something she has mentioned in passing will definitely make her smile.
I hope these gift ideas spark options for the special woman in your life. And at the the end of the day, it is not the gift that is important, just the fact that you show how much you appreciate your mom.
