Birthday Wish List

Friday is a very special day. Nope, not because of Halloween. Well technically yes, it is Halloween but it is also an even more exciting day because… it is my birthday! I am spending the weekend at my alma mater for Homecoming. Bucknell + Halloween + My Birthday, what more could a girl ask for? I am so excited to head back to one of my favorite places in the world and I am looking forward to seeing a ton of familiar faces. Since my birthday is only a few days away I thought I would dedicate a post to all the different things I have been coveting as of late.

To be honest, I am a pretty tricky person to get gifts for. Every year I never know what I want for my birthday, and find that the things that I want instead come up sporadically throughout the year. However, this year I am really trying to hone in on the things that I would love.

Screen Shot 2014-10-27 at 10.02.39 PMSunflowers – If you haven’t already noticed through a few of my older posts…I love sunflowers. A birthday is perfection with a fresh bouquet of sunflowers.

Taylor Swift 1989 – Okay so I am a little late to downloading TSwift’s latest album because well…my iTunes is an absolute mess (which is why I added it to my 101 in 1001 list, to hopefully tackle it in the near future!). I am hoping to grab a copy of this album so I can play the CD on the long drive back to Bucknell this weekend. My car does not have an iPod plug in, so instead I rock out to my collection of mix CDs. You may laugh that I am so old school, but I love my high school mixes and singing along while I drive. Plus, Taylor Swift’s stories and emotions somehow always seem to relate to my own recent life experiences.

Desk clock – It may not be the most exciting gift, but I could seriously use a desk clock. I don’t have one at my cubicle and it would really come in handy! I saw this Kate Spade one and immediately knew that it would fit in with my other colorful desk accessories.

Camel Trenchcoat – I am on the hunt for a classic trenchcoat. Working in New York equals a very windy commute, which calls for a trenchcoat. I have one that is getting really worn out and is not as long as I would like for the upcoming colder months. If you know of any great options, send them my way!

Tumbler – Instead of using Poland Spring water bottles every day, I am looking to invest in a nicer tumbler for work. I tried using one of my Brita filter water bottles that I used in college. However, it is more of a sport style and makes those awkward slurping sounds after you take a sip. Not the best noise in a quiet office environment! When I saw this tumbler I thought it would be a more professional and cute option!

iPad – The one gift that I have been mulling over for months is an iPad. Everyone else in my family has their own iPad and they all love them. I knew that once I started a job in NYC it would be a good option for the long commute. Plus it will make it easier to work on my blog while on the go! I still need to do my research, but I think that this could be a truly wonderful birthday gift!

Cupcakes – Need I say more?

What are some of the things you are saving up to buy or hoping to receive for a birthday present? At the end of the day, obviously it is not the presents that matter, but instead the people who are by your side (cliche but true!). And I truly cannot wait to see my favorite Bucknellians and spend my birthday/Halloween with them!
