Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Screen Shot 2014-10-11 at 11.45.11 AMDid you know that breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States throughout their lifetime?

So far on the blog, I have been pretty mum about where I am working. However, I thought that with this post it was important to include my new position. I recently started working at Estée Lauder and so far it has been an amazing experience! One of the things that I was most drawn to about this company prior to even applying, was their focus on breast cancer awareness.

The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign was founded in 1992 by the late Mrs. Evelyn H. Lauder through the launch of the Pink Ribbon. This has since become the universal symbol for breast health. The mission of the BCA campaign is to defeat breast cancer through both education and medical research. It is also active in over 70 countries and has raised more than $53 million to support research, education, and medical services.

This year’s BCA Campaign theme is “Let’s Defeat Breast Cancer. We’re Stronger Together.” This campaign allows individuals to tell their own story of facing breast cancer and the support of their loved ones throughout the difficult path.

Many of the Estée Lauder brands have come together to create Pink Ribbon Products to raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for medical research. A few of my favorites are:

If you would rather donate money directly to the cause check out the BCA Donation Page and help Estee Lauder reach its $5 million dollar goal!! I think that it is so important to give back, and for a cause this important, why wouldn’t you donate a few dollars? Or even better, buy a few adorable pink products for a cause!
