Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of summer, which means it’s time for me to read the books on my ever growing “Books to Read” list. Here is just a glimpse at the books I know I won’t be putting down this summer…
Where’d You Go Bernadette? – Maria Semple
My Mom read this book as a part of her book club and continually told me to add it to my list. I am excited to see what the hype is all about.
Welcome to the Real World – Lauren Berger
As a Campus Ambassador for The Intern Queen at my school for the last three years I am excited to read Lauren’s latest book. It relates directly to my life, hello recent college graduate without a plan!
Dark Places – Gillian Flynn
After reading Gone Girl by Flynn (which I could barely keep down!) I was so excited to read another book by the same author. Flynn has truly captivated me with her ability to manipulate and surprise readers.
The Goldfinch – Donna Tartt
This is a book I have been hearing about non stop for months. I have been waiting to have some time to delve into this Pulitzer Prize winning novel.
Girls in White Dresses – Jennifer Close
Daily it seems that more and more facebook posts of engagement rings are invading my newsfeed. I am excited to read a book that reflects on these early adulthood years and dealing with attending wedding after wedding.
The Language of Flowers –Vanessa Diffenbaugh
My friend Cecilija recommended this book to me months ago and I cannot wait to finally crack it open. I am intrigued to read a story that ties together a personal struggle and the meanings behind beautiful petals.
#GIRLBOSS – Sophia Amoruso
First off, this title is awesome. Secondly, I cannot wait to read the stories of a woman who went from a teen dumpster diver and petty theft to the CEO of Nasty Gal a $100 million plus online fashion retailer.
Okay I will stop this list at 7 books! I promise to review each of these with my honest opinions and to keep adding to my reading list. What books are on your list this summer? Happy Memorial Day Weekend and Happy Reading!
