101 in 1001

The first time I heard about the 101 in 1001 list was when I was a member of Her Campus Bucknell. Our campus celebrity of the week was a blogger named Mackenzie Horan, a fellow Bucknellian who graduated a few years prior. After hearing about her I was intrigued to check out her blog for myself. I was immediately taken with her fashion sense (I mean who doesn’t love hot pink and navy?!), but also her page called 101 in 1001. Although I love to try new things, the word bucket list often makes me cringe. I find that when people are doing things because it is on their bucket list, it is never as fun as they imagine. They put so much emphasis on accomplishing tons of different memorable or important experiences, which often fall flat because of its forced nature. Some of my favorite memories are from days and nights that did not have a plan in mind, they just became adventures on their own. Many of those moments included bucket list types of experiences that were even more fun because of the spontaneity of it all. The reason why I am so fond of the 101 in 1001 is that it is a combination of a to do list and a bucket list. I am able to dream big but also show progress over time. This list is filled with fun, new, and some more practical goals that I have in mind for myself. Over the next 2.75 years I will work to accomplish every single task on this list, and I promise to update the blog monthly to give you a recap on what I have done. Thank you Mackenzie for this wonderful idea! So here it goes…my 101 in 1001!
